Founded in 2002, the Jacaranda School for Orphans has changed the lives of thousands of children. We provide comprehensive, free education and care to orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi through our Preschool, Primary School, Secondary School, Vocational School and University Scholarships programs.
Our educational model fosters the development of strong values, healthy self-esteem, and independent thinking. We focus on life skills and leadership training, and offer enrichment activities and clubs.
Many of our students have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS and are being raised by single parents or grandparents. With the knowledge that strong families and the community are the best support for orphans and vulnerable children, we have initiatives to strengthen our students’ families and the surrounding communities; for instance, the entrepreneurship and skills training classes we offer women in our villages communities. And our outreach program of libraries for public primary and secondary schools in Malawi.
