We are thrilled to announce that five of our graduate students have been awarded university scholarships by the Mastercard Foundation. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program enables students whose talent and promise exceed their financial resources to complete their education. With a vision that education is a catalyst for social and economic change, the program focuses on developing leaders who are transformative, encouraging them to be active contributors in their communities.

The selected students are:

  • Franklin Rashid, Bachelor of Applied Computing at United States International University in Nairobi, Kenya

  • David Mandiwa, Bachelor of Biological Sciences at University of Botswana

  • Katie Kaonga, Bachelor of Social Sciences at Africa University in Zimbabwe

  • Harry Goliyo, Bachelor of Computer Sciences at African Leadership University in Mauritius

  • Idah Geoffrey, Bachelor of Entrepreneurship at African Leadership University in Mauritius

These students have made a commitment to stay in Africa upon graduation, ensuring their focus and drive will remain in Africa.

Two of our graduate students - Clement Kammwamba and Reuben Salima - have been admitted at the Incubator program at Watson Institute in Boulder, Colorado, USA - a four month scholarship starting in January 2020.  Congratulations to these incredible students!
